Filter Cleaning & Repair

A filter that’s not running at its best can lead to cloudy water, sluggish flow, and even white powder (diatomaceous earth) collecting at the bottom of your pool! Keeping your filter clean and functioning properly is absolutely essential for a sparkling pool. If your filter is dirty and covered in algae, like the one in the picture, your pump has to work overtime to keep the water circulating, which can hinder effective filtration and give algae a chance to flourish. We love to perform pool filter cleanings twice a year—once at the start of the swimming season and again at the end! Depending on your filter type, size, or if your pool has faced a big event, it might need some extra TLC.

**Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Filters** – These beauties need to be taken apart and cleaned every six months! During this time, we’ll inspect the grids and manifold for any wear and tear, plus we’ll lubricate the backwash valve and O-rings to keep everything running smoothly.

**Cartridge Filters** – These should also be disassembled and cleaned every six months, or even more often if the pressure spikes or flow drops significantly.

**For our Full Service programs, we’ll automatically schedule your filter cleaning visits every six months in our system, so you can enjoy a hassle-free pool experience!**
